A self-described ‘Girl boss’ who broke into the e-commerce business back in 2006 with an online eBay store, which quickly rose into women’s fashion retailer Nasty Gal. Netflix is currently airing a drama based on her rise to success and we can see why. Have a scroll through her Instagram feed to see her in true 'girl boss' style and you will too.

 Shonda Rhimes

Power magnet in television and queen of fictional drama, Shonda Rhimes has churned out some seriously inspiration female leads. From Scandal's Olivia pope, to How to get away with murders Annalise Keating, Shona certainly knows a thing or two about creating female characters with some serious power play. Whilst her Instagram bio may read ‘I have some TV shows. They are not real’ they are real in the hearts of viewers across the world, and towards the progression of more role models who embody strength and fearlessness.

 Leandra Medine

Founder of blog turned fashion and lifestyle website Man Repeller, Leandra is the queen of all things style and a serious lady boss. Her website which was started whilst she was still a student has grown into one of the most widely read fashion websites of today. A self-described ‘humorous website for serious fashion’ Man Repeller is a safe haven for women to go to read all things fashion with some tongue in cheek humor thrown in for good measure. Whilst Man Repellers official Instagram is, of course, a style fanatics dream, Leandra’s personal account is as equally picture perfect.

Current editor and chief of Teen Vogue has done a tremendous job of reshaping the magazine's direction. At one with Millenials, at only 29 Elaine was promoted to editor, making her the second African-American and youngest editor in Condé Nast history to be appointed such a role. Credited for the notable increase in coverage of politics and social justice, her Instagram follows a similar dialogue encouraging her followers to civically engage in current social debates. One of her captions reads ‘in these uncertain times, when alternative facts are fuelling political conversations, it has never been more important to talk to your daughters and the young people in your life about what’s going on in the world’. Elaine, we couldn’t agree more.

Sissi Johnson

‘Dubbed the face of fashion tech’ Sissi is ‘ The go- to Brand strategist at the intersection of Fashion, Technology, and Lifestyle.’ With brands such as Airbnb on her resume and a mention in Forbes Sissi is one to look out for. Whilst her Instagram bio may read ‘ not picture perfect’ we disagree. With her colorful aesthetic Sissi is doing a masterful job at showcasing her personal style.
